Everyone has their own reasons for shutting their computer or laptop down or using the sleep mode options. Me personally, the heat created from my devices becomes unbearable at times and the energy usages tends to get out of control. At the same time, it takes 5-ever for my laptop to boot up from the time that I press the button, to the time I am able to perform some type of operation and get an actual response. Its been so long since I’ve used the sleep option, I totally forgot about it and have just gotten used to shutting everything down to save myself from the heat during these hot summer days and nights. This article illustrates the pluses and minus’ of utilizing the sleep mode option with your device and even touches on the energy consumption in case you were wondering how you can shave off a few dollars and cents from your energy bill.

I use sleep mode for my laptop but never for my desktop at work. I will start though, my office is like an oven since I have 2 computers on all day. Thanks!
